If you spend as much time on YouTube as we -- unfortunately -- do, you're going to see a lot of monkeys doing a lot of stuff.

Of course, at first we thought we were just wasting time. Dwindling away our lives by clicking through videos of monkeys ice skating and breathing fire.

But as our quest continued, and as the monkey odyssey took us through clips of the creatures playing guitar, operating motor bikes and even indulging in the occasional cigarette, we came to a humbling conclusion. There really isn't much difference between us and our hairy primate brothers, we realised. We both laugh. We both cry. We both operate motor bikes.

And given that yet another Darwin-doubting American politician appears to be heading for the office of vice-president, isn't it time to spread the knowledge that really, underneath it all, we're all just monkeys in suits?
