At the Old Town Ale House in Chicago, partisan politics don't get in the way of an inspired crush on the "bizarrely fascinating" vice-presidential nominee.Bruce Elliott, whose wife Tobin Mitchen owns the drinking establishment, says he "pretty much despise[s]" everything Sarah Palin stands for, but admits he finds her kind of hot. So when Elliot painted a nude portrait of the moose-hunting VP candidate, Mitchen hung it prominently in the bar.
The portrait -- in which the body was reportedly modeled on that of Elliott's daughter (!?) -- depicts the Alaska governor standing in the buff on a bearskin rug, wearing red high heels and holding a machine gun.
These days, the painting is a big attraction among the pub's clientele. "We got a bunch of people in tonight," Elliott said. "They're coming to take pictures with their camera phones. The photo is all over the place."
UK Ed: We would say this was debasing to the VP candidate, but we have to keep it in perspective -- Palin is debasing herself twice as badly whenever she appears on TV. The following clip, in which she cannot name a single newspaper she reads except "all of them", shows just what we mean.
