Karl Malden, Oscar winner and star of films like A Streetcar Named Desire and On The Waterfront, has died aged 97. His 'supporting-man' looks and intense performances made him a legend in his time, and his 70-years of marriage to the same gal made him a rare gent in the Hollywood crowd. Along with Molly Sugden, star of Are You Being Served? (who also died yesterday) he will be missed.

While it seems like the universe is a cruel place right now -- every day is seems there is another legendary actor or musician in the obituary column -- we still prefer to look on the positive side and celebrate what our heroes did best.
