If you've ever been walking past your local playground and seen a bunch of unusually mature-looking children playing on the monkey bars, chances are they're engaging in the latest 'down-with-the-kids' urban pastime of parkour, or free-running.

This blend of gymnastics, urban dancing and severe bodily injury has taken the world by storm over the last few years, having originated in Paris back in the 1980s. The World Champs of the parkour community hit London's Trafalgar Square over the weekend, and as it turned out it was a Brit -- Tim 'Livewire' Shieff -- who came away with the title.

Check out his amazing run after the jump -- it exhausted us just watching it.

The winning run -- as filmed from the crowd.
