We, at Asylum, don't want to go to jail. Don't make us. Ever. That said, if we were to wind up behind bars we'd want it it to be in Tampa, Florida in the US of A. Why? So we could shake these men by the hand.
Introducing four prison inmates who are being hailed as heroes for saving the life of a prison guard. Deputy Kenneth Moon was alone at his station at a county jail facility when an inmate attacked him with no warning.
Moon, 64, was no match for giant nutcase Douglas Burden, 24, who was in the big house on various drug charges. With Moon still in his chair, Burden put him in a choke hold and pulled tight, attempting to kill the poor guy.
Then, from nowhere, a group of inmates jump into the rumble, siding with Moon. One clocks the attacker with a killer punch, sending him sprawling before two inmates pin him to the floor. A third even gets on the radio and calls for back up. By the end of the melee as many as 8 orange overall-clad cons are helping out the hapless guard.
Four have been singled out as life savers, one of which is inside for attempted murder. Check out the footage after the jump.

These guys deserve a pat on the back....however this is a rare occurrence I should imagine. The incident you describe regarding the guy being mugged and no one helping him...is something that happens all over the world not just in This country.

Treat everone you meet as you would expect them to treat you. There is a little good even in the worst of people and if you give them a chance to show it you may be surprised.

Well done to them. It just goes to show that not all criminals are bad people.
I think these guys should be rewarded with a reduced sentance or something similar.
Well done guys. God bless you all.

i agree that the inmates should be rewarded for what they have done, but perhpas with an increase in privelidges rather than reduced sentences as they still ultimately committed the crime they were originally jailed for.

All four of the inmates who were called life-savers should receive the meal of their choice including steak, prime rib, shrimp, crab etc.
It was heartwarming to see them come to the deputy's rescue.

Good for those guys. They showed they are human. As for the perpetrator? Solitary for life sounds good.(Don't let air-headed psychiatrists tell us otherwise.)
