Another day. Another Lembit Opik break-up.

News of the prodigious Lib Dem womaniser's split from lingerie model Katie Green, 22, hardly came as a shock.

First wide-mouthed welsh weather-lady, Sian Williams, second, cheeky girl, Gabriela Irimia and now curvy model Green.

What we want to know though, because frankly we're baffled, is what has Lembit Opik got that we don't?

The only thing we know for sure, is that, being a Lib Dem, it's not the strength of his political convictions...Zing.

We ask some attractive ladies what they think after the jump.

Emma Cooper, 22, Stoke-on-Trent

"I don't know. Is he quite tall? He looks quite tall. Tall is always good, but erm, no, he's not good-looking at all. His face is like, all weird [harsh!].

"That's his girlfriend? Nah. She's clearly just doing it for, like, the media attention isn't she. Look at her working it.

"Is he the one that went out with the cheeky girl? He's an MP right? He's probably quite clever, but I don't really like brainboxes."

Lizzie Norman, 19, London

"Oh no. No no no. He's awful. He's actually quite ugly. He must be really charismatic - that's the only way it could be possible. She's absolutely gorgeous. She's amazing. Look at her. Woof.

"Is she a model? Her hips are amazing. Her eyes. What is she doing with him? I know that's what you've asked me, but really, I really don't know.

"Maybe it's a power thing, maybe she's got a thing for power. It's always that way round isn't it? You never see like some hot up-and-coming male model going out with like you know, like, Anne Widdecombe or something do you? It'd look daft, but we're like used to this."

Sophie Masstaveronsky, 23, Liverpool

"He's a Lib Dem, I like Lib Dems so that's good. But I mean, no, no rational woman could say he was physically attractive. But that's not everything. I don't like classically good looking men

"I like charismatic men, he's probably got charisma, and a sense of humour that's really important

"I suppose you'd have to have a sense of humour with a face like that. Don't print that, I don't want to sound mean.

"I think I remember seeing him play the, what's it called, mouth organ, on TV, he was quite good, maybe they like musical men?"

So, we're no closer to an answer. But Sophie was right... here's a video of Lembit at the Lib Dem party conference playing his harmonica.
