KA-POW! The world record for toppling dominoes has been broken!

Some 4,491,863 dominoes bit the dust in Holland, this weekend, smashing the standing world record of 4,345,027. Both records were set by a man known as Mr Domino.

Mr D was helped by a team of 90 builders (not as in brickies, but domino experts) from 14 European countries who worked for two months on the masterpiece, in the Netherlands town of Leeuwarden.

With each millimetre counting, they used rulers and tweezers to ensure each stone was in its exact spot.

Following the toppling of the first stone the sequence saw dominoes climbing stairs, unveiling paintings and sending remote controlled cars through great walls of dominoes.
