Ah Jedward - the twins who'd be lucky to come third in a particularly poor high school talent competition were finally booted out of the X-Factor last night. And we were sad to see them go.

But once they came up against Olly in the sing-off, we think everyone knew, their time was up, and their implausibly tuneless rendition of No Matter What sealed the deal, even before Olly came out and nailed Wonderful Tonight.

Granted they couldn't sing, and they couldn't really dance, but they didn't really care, and neither did we until this year's sexiest contestant Lucie Jones was sacrificed in order to keep them on our TVs.

But we didn't want to see them go last night, not when man-with-the-voice-of-girl Joe "thin legs" McElderry and Danyl Johnson, two of the least charismatic contestants ever, are still gallivanting around on-stage.

So to commemorate Jedward's special special performances, we've complied a list of five of the sexiest twins we could dig up.

The Bella Twins

We at Asylum have a penchant for attractive women who can beat us up. You may think it's weird, we think it's sexy. Brie and Nikki Bella are two professional female wrestlers, duking it out in the WWE Raw. Originally Nikki would fight on her own, disappearing, when injured, beneath the ring only to reappear seconds later fully revived. But it was discovered that she was swapping places with her twin sister - the cunning minxes.

Once their little ploy was discovered they began to fight as a tag-team, and in a genuinely romantic twist began to date The Colons, another tag team, but they're a bit crap. Sorry. But come on - The Colons. What were we meant to do?

The Ikki Twins

Bisexual twins Erica Rikki and Vikki Mongeon, known for their MTV show Double Shot Of Love, in which the "Ikkis" live in a house with 12 straight blokes, and 12 lesbian ladies, who compete for their affection.

And yes, we have seen it, and yes it is as awful as it sounds. Gradually the twins whittled the 24 horny blighters down to two, the heavily tattooed sex-kitten Rebekah and frankly pretty ugly Trevor. But lucky for Trevor the girls go for ugly men with mawkish personalities.

If you're thinking, "well if they're bisexual twins why don't they just get together?" because even though aesthetically it might be, pretty smoking hot, it's still incest, and incest is still way gross, and actually, a crime.

The Veronicas

The Aussie electro-punk-pop duo of Jessica and Lisa Origliasso, little known in the UK, have been taking the world by storm. And it's not hard to see why.

The sultry punk pair have notched up quite a number of exes in their brief tenure in the sun of celebrity. Jessica has dated Ryan Caberara, Dean Geyer and Silverchair bassist Yair Garfias, while sister Lisa was embroiled in sexy sex scandal after pictures, allegedly of her in various states of undress, were leaked on the Internet. You definitely can't find them by googling Lisa Origiliasso leaked photos. Or can you?

The Olsen Twins

The Olsens are the richest hot twins in the world. Their production company Dualstar is worth an estimated £250 million. Not bad for two 23-year-olds.

Ashley and Mary Kate shot to stardom at the tender age of nine months, appearing on family comedy Full House which ran for 8 years.

Both twins have endured their share of controversy, in 2005 Ashley filed a 40 million lawsuit against tabloid magazine National Enquirer for printing a headline reading "Ashley Olsen Caught In Drug Scandal."

While chins went a'wagging when Mary Kate started dating professional cyclist and live-strong hero, Lance Armstrong who was fifteen years her senior.

Kristina and Karissa Shannon

These alliterative 20-year-old twins became "stars" overnight when Hugh Heffner chose them as part of his new harem of girlfriends after dumping the previous pack. Kristina and Karissa replaced Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson, at the Playboy mansion.

And it would seem Hugh likes a scrapper, as these two were charged with aggravated assault in 2007, after getting into a brawl at a house party. Not content with just one violent incident on her police record, feisty Karissa was also arrested again later that year misdemeanor battery charge.

We're not questioning these young ladies hotness. It's demonstrably obvious they're a double delights, like a twix, but we're just saying if you're a man with the means to have three girlfriends why would you want two who look exactly the same?
