Asylum has been mooting it for some weeks now and it seems like it's all coming to a head. Humans are at war with animals.

Anyone who has ever been to Australia will know it's home to some weird, creepy and downright dangerous beasts. But for all the sharks, crocodiles and killer spiders down under, it's marauding camels that are spearheading the latest charge against mankind.

It all started a few weeks ago when around 30 camels headed into the small town looking for water. Since then more have arrived each day and they soon outnumbered the 330 local residents, now there are more than 6,000 camels.

Residents have rightly gotten the hump (we can only try and apologise) and are said to be scared to leave their homes because the marauding camels have already knocked down some buildings and smashed over water mains.

The government say the situation has got to a critical point and has now announced the camels will be rounded up, taken out of the town and humanely shot in a mass cull. How do you humanely shoot something? Get a human to do it?

There are over a million camels in the Aussie outback. A small number were introduced in the 19th century to help with the construction of railway lines, but with few natural predators they have bred.
