Just because you're waving a gun around and threatening to shoot people, doesn't mean you are the hardest man at the pub -- especially in Manchester.

This lesson was eloquently taught to a 19-year-old pistol-toting thug.

James Lee Drewitt - who had just been released from prison - was part of a gang fight in Manchester earlier this year. After shots were fired, many of the youths ran into the Gorton Mount pub as they were followed by a weapon-wielding Drewitt.

But as most drinkers and passers-by jumped for cover, one unnamed man strolled outside to check his wife, who was having a cigarette, was safe. As he did this Drewitt pointed the gun directly at his head and repeatedly said: "I am going to shoot you!"

More, with footage, after the jump.

After being understandably frozen to the spot for a second (we would probably still be there) CCTV footage shows the man lunge forward and nut the youngster, before grabbing him by the shoulders and wrestling him away from the gun.

Drewitt has just been sentenced to a minimum of three years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence. Meanwhile, our hero has chosen not to be identified and has moved away from Manchester.
