Every study on the relationship between porn and sex crimes concludes that when the availability of pornography increases, the rate of sex crimes either stays static or decreases.For example, in the United States, there has been a consistent decline in forcible rape over the last two decades. But too much available porn can also be where these problems start in the first place.
Put a lot of sex everywhere and that's what will become percieved as normal, its already become an obsession for a lot of young boys, there are a lot of teenagers who think sex and love are the same, the perception of what your body should be like...etc.
My point is it also causes a lot of underlying problems.

Real sad tale Geoff!And quite a situation!Being Catholic plays no roll in this.All it does is binds two people who shouldn't be together (I know,my father in law lived your life and died bitter and twisted...don't let it happen to you) Quite suprised you haven't bludeoned her to death yet!! I would suggest stabbing yourself with a blade (not fatally obviously) calling police, saying it was her,get her carted away....social services step in...look after you & your son...she rots away in some womens prison!!!

Porn isn't being forced on anyone. The majority of the women employed in the adult industry have called it the perfect way to express their sexuality. It's no longer a considered taboo subject. It's only that there are many people who don't like it and are offended by it. I know the girls on AdultWork.com love doing camera shows. But, as with any profession, there is a darker side to porn, including stories of allegations which you will rarely hear about it, etc.

this argument doesnt stand up at all. infact there was recent reaserch into porn becoming available from hollywood to remote africa there was even a documentary about it, where the guys in the tribes were going to shacks and watching this porn sent over from american big wigs and then openly on camera admitting that they would regularly watch the porn, get horny, and go back and rape the women in the tribe.
this would make sense as an argument if "porn" was relatively normal sex. unfortunatly as we all know its been pushing and pushing the boundaries and there is now some really sick stuff that just puts wierd and deviant ideas in some peoples heads. admittedly these are usually deviant people to start with, but im sure it brings it out.
there is a place for porn and im not against it, what i dont like is very young lads watching extreme porn all over the internet and getting twisted ideas about sex and healthy relationships

Blaming sex crime on porn is like blaming drink driving on the motor car industry, it's just a cop out from people who need saving from themselves, people need to take responcibility for their actions its you who did the crime not the porn. I am sick of the government bringing in knee jerk laws and cross the board taxes just becouse a minority of idiots go out with trouble in mind and use any excuse afterwards. The proposed cider tax being a good example these idiots just use drink as an excuse its a cultural thing Russians can drink the British under the table but fortunatly when they drink they love everybody (which makes a pleasant change from their sober attitude. Same as you leave any of these British drunken thugs alone with some genuinly no nonsense hard geazers and all of a sudden they mysteriously sober up and behave like little lambs...I wonder why that could be?
