Today the BBC announced that Alex Jones is going to be the new presenter of 5pm fleece-fest The One Show.Initially we were shocked. Auntie had appointed a divisive conspiracy theorist to present their flagship magazine show? Then we discovered it's not that Alex Jones, it's BBC Wales hotty Alex Jones.
We were disappointed, it seemed like such a bold new direction for the dowdy old Beeb, but then we saw Alex and our disappointment quickly turned to mild arousal. The new presenter of The One Show is hot.
But is she hotter than Bleakley? There is, undoubtedly a resemblance between the two, but we want to know who you'd rather sit next to on a cheap looking sofa?
Jones will join Jason Manford as the new faces of the show after Bleakley and Adrian Chiles left to front GMTV's revamp.
The great news for fans of televisual hotties is that the two shows won't be going head-to-head, you'll be able have Bleakley with your breakfast and Jones with your dinner. It's win-win.

Sorry, Alex Jones doesn't do it for me. I watched the first show with the new "pair on the sofa", and was bored, bored, bored. If it hadn't been for the wonderful Whoopie Goldberg, I'd have switched off. Both the presenters, but Alex Jones in particular, were characterless and without any sparkle. Christine Bleakely may not have been to everyone's taste, but at least she was noticeable. I will not be watching The One Show again.
